ELC Chamber Business of The Year 2019
The Outstanding Business of the Year has been in operation since 1942 and is a fourth-generation company with hundreds of employees in East Lewis County.
They are a family orientated company that believes in community and continually support both Morton, Randle, and the surrounding areas. A few of their contributions include the Adopt a Family Program, Lights in the Park, and lumber for civic projects. They are currently donating resources for a Forestry Room at the Cispus Learning Center and working with the food bank to install a new floor. They are supporters of the Loggers Jubilee and are in the Jubilee Parade. In addition, they donate endlessly to local fundraisers and auctions.
They treat their employees like family and are committed to their people, community and sustainability. With great pride, we present the 2020 Outstanding Business of the Year to Hampton Lumber Mill.
ELC Chamber Small Business of The Year 2019
This business owner is another wonderful example of demonstrating love of community. Some of her contributions include donations to the youth program, donations to the Roxy theater, donations to Friends of the Park and to the Farmers Market. She also makes contributions throughout the year to help others by giving both products, and sometimes more value, her time.
It is with great pride that we give the 2020 Outstanding Small Business Award to Tesha Stone, owner of The Rabbit Hole.
ELC Chamber Citizen of the Year 2019
Our Outstanding Citizen of the Year is a man with a big heart, tirelessly working in the community sharing his time, labor and funds year around. Some of his projects include the mini- pantry and book shelf in the pocket park on main street. He also cleared the hill by hand to make Snoopy’s sledding hill, delighting many children in town. Following that, he worked with the PUD to install a street light to improve safety at night.
His significant contributions make this community a better place to live. It is with great pleasure that the 2020 East Lewis County Chambers Outstanding Citizen of the Year is awarded to Buddy King.
ELC Chamber 2019 Presidents Award
The winner of the 2020 Presidents Award has provided dynamic leadership to all of East Lewis County, and a strong advocate for our veterans and much more.
She is the Manager for the Mountain View Timberland Library and in that role has brought more than just books to the area. She has been instrumental in bringing Pop-Up Library Services to both Morton and Mineral and initiated a library program for Glenoma. She has also started a teen night at the library. Working with the US Forest Service, she was instrumental in starting the Story Trail Program, the first of its kind in the state.
When library services in Randle were threatened, she was a strong voice in helping change the direction of the Timberland Library System.
As a retired Army Colonel, we thank you for your service to our country and our county. Our 2020 East Lewis County Chamber Presidents Award goes to Mary Prophit.
